Frequently Asked Questions

cBidz is an auction based online marketplace where members can buy and sell directly to other members and get the best value for their items whether they are buying or selling!
cBidz allows its user community to list their items online on the mobile app, in an auction format and manages all aspects of the auction. With its proximity search, cBidz allows potential buyers to find items of interest locally so that they can complete the transaction in person.
Being an auction based transaction, cBidz empowers its users to buy and sell at the best prices possible under the current market conditions as they relate to that item’s supply and demand.

Being an auction based marketplace, cBidz makes sure whether you are buying or selling you get the best value under the given market conditions of supply and demand.

Our application strives to make the transaction a win-win for the user regardless of whether they are buying or selling on the platform.

cBidz empowers you, whether you are buying or selling, to control your goals – the seller makes sure that they get at least the minimum amount that they are willing to sell for and the buyer controls the maximum that they are willing to spend on an item.

The cBidz application and service are being offered free of any cost to the user community. The winning buyer only pays the seller for the closing price of the auction which cannot exceed the amount the buyer bid.

cBidz is neither responsible for, nor facilitates the exchange of monies and the item being sold. That is left between the buyer and seller, to complete the transaction, after the auction closes.

  • Seller lists item for sale: The seller goes through a wizard driven easy 4-step listing process. First the app detects your location; you may change that if you are selling from a different location than where you are. Don’t worry, your exact location and address are not shared with anyone. Then you chose the category of the item you are trying to sell. Next you add relevant product information including the lowest price  you are willing to accept for the item (starting price). Finally, you add pictures of the item and complete the listing process.

  • Buyer searches for items: Searches can be done by simply scrolling through the mobile-app and also by searching the name of an item of interest. Results are provided based on a distance from the searching device’s location. You may also search in an area or address away from your current location. Advanced and filtered searches allow you to get more granular on your search critera.

  • Buyer places a bid: Interested buyers then place a bid on an item that they wish to buy. When you place a bid you can either place the minimum required bid or a higher value bid. If you were to place a higher value bid than the minimum required amount based on the other bids already in the system, the application calculates the winning bid and displays that as the winner. If someone previously had a higher or equal bid in the system you will not win that bid. However, if there were no other bids equal to or higher than your bid you would be the winner, at that point in time, with an amount either equal to or quite possibly even lower than your bid amount. This bidding process continues on till the auction time runs out.

  • Auction time ends: There are no extension times in the auctions on our application; each auction runs for 3 days (exactly 72 hours) from the time it is started. At that exact time, when the auction ends, if there are any bids on the item the bidder with the highest bid would win the auction.

  • The last mile: cBidz is only responsible to brings buyers and sellers together and faciliate the auction. Once the auction ends the buyers and sellers are notified and they complete the transaction amongst themselves. cBidz does not facilitate the payment or transfer of the item. Even though cBidz is not responsible for anything after the auction ends we recomend that people use caution when they meet up to exchange the auction item for the monies that are owed for the item. Some suggested safety guidelines can be found under the security section.

  • No bids on a listing: There is always a chance that the item listed does not receive any bids. If no bids are received during an auction the item listed did not sell and can be relisted by the seller. In such cases the seller may want to do a market search to see how much similar items are selling for and make sure that their starting asking price reflects the market conditions. The idea is to list an item at the lowest acecptable price and then let the bidding process determine the final selling price based on market demand.

There is a minimum bid increment based on the current bid price of an item in an auction. In the cBidz application this minimum increment changes based on the current winning bid amount; and could be anywhere from $0.25 to as much as $100.00.

We have set these increments based on a range that is shown below
